Wedding Confetti Top Tips
Ok so you are here because you are planning your wedding and looking for top tips for selecting your confetti, right?
Let me just explain super clearly, not any old confetti will do. You see as an alternative and modern wedding photographer i get the importance of confetti and selecting the right type, why? i hear you say!
I always think confetti is one of them show stopper images, you get the best reactions, you relax, have fun, you see the pure joy on your faces and the ‘sh*t you got it in my eye’ but anyway, it’s GREAT fun and they really do always end up being some of the best and favourite images of the couples.
How to do confetti
I always do confetti as a long tunnel, unless you have a very small number of guests then we do static. But the long tunnel means you babes walk through a tunnel of your guests whilst they all chuck confetti (over not under) as you walk through them, run through them, dance through them, whatever you want to do.
By doing it this way you get lots of variety of images, and i have lots of tips (which i’m not giving away here) for how i personally capture some madness.
What confetti should i buy?
Confetti type actually doesn’t matter, but the quantity by type does:
- I LOVE colourful large chunk paper confetti, because it flies and floats perfectly so it gives drama for longer.
- Dried petals, look EPIC and smell divine, however, allow for the equivalent of 2 large handfuls per guest, purely because they are so fine and heavy in comparison that they drop quickly to the floor.
- Canons – my faves – i will always recommend for you to buy a few confetti canons to chuck in the mix. The volume you get is INSANE, the fun you have with them is INSANE. Go do it, thank me later!
Don’t forget!
Don’t forget, confetti isn’t just for that walk up the aisle or the just married moment. People love to use these as canons being released when you walk into your reception (just check the venue allows it indoors) and don’t forget the dancefloor, a release of confetti during first dance makes for WILD imagery!
