Here we go, let’s talk about one of my most favourite modern weddings…and the wedding that started my love obsession with this venue…. that’s right, you guessed it, Trafalgar Warehouse in Sheffield. Now i’m not going to talk too much about why i love this venue purely because i’ve wrote another blog post all about it which you can view HERE.
For this post i want to specifically talk about why i loved this wedding and this couple, and how they really put the true meaning into what a Modern and Alternative Wedding should be.
So when i hear the term a modern or alternative wedding i instantly think the following:
a) it attracts quirky, cool, edgy, rockers, Muso’s
b) The day is focussed around the couple being authentically themselves not what the guests should want
c) A Quirky and different venue, like a warehouse, or a studio, or a disused church…
d) The styling is cool, edgy, different, i always thing neon, leopard print, not a normal wedding dress, dr martens.
e) a desire for portraits to be more natural but quirky, that brings out their true personality
f) a packed dance floor and some serious shapes being thrown.
And let me tell you… allllll of this, was exactly what i got at this UNREAL wedding.
I don’t even think i need to say much more than that, for now i’m going to hand you over to the bride and groom:

The engagement: We bought our first house in 2018 and we had put lots of time and love into doing it up. Tom decided where better then right in our favourite spot – our dining room. It was perfect. We then kept it to ourselves for 24 hours before telling our parents face to face the day later.
Your wedding journey : We had no idea what we wanted, we went into it blind but after looking at a few different venues it helped us narrow down what we liked/didn’t like. We wanted a party, with lots of music and no real structure.
As a couple we went into planning the wedding knowing we wanted a day that was ‘us’. We wanted people to turn up saying ‘wow this is so Tom and Amelia’. So we focused on making sure we put our own touch to the wedding. We focused on things we love and made sure they were there on the day. Our main bit of advice is do what you want, this is your wedding so make sure even if not conventional you make it about you two.
